Ford Focus RS is making rounds in the news as it was reported that the car which is only available in Europe will be released in the United States. The new Ford Focus RS will have an all-wheel-drive drivetrain and will be unveiled in the Geneva Motor Show in the next two months.
The new Ford Focus RS will sport an all-wheel-drive drivetrain and packs a four cylinder 2.3 liter Ecoboost engine, the same engine that drives Lincoln's MKS and the soon to be released 2015 Ford Mustang, Road & Track reported.
Unfortunately the Ford Focus RS will not be mass produced in the United States and additional reports shows that it will be released in "extremely limited numbers" according to the publication.
Development on the new Ford Focus RS is still ongoing and Ford has yet to announce its final and official specifications. However, many speculate that the Focus RS' power might be close to that of the Mustang and might even be more powerful than the Ford Focus ST. Another unconfirmed rumor is whether Ford will decide to equip the Focus RS with the Honeywell Twin-Scroll Turbo like the one installed in the 2015 Mustang.
In an official statement released by Raj Nair, Ford's vice president for global product development, he said, "The Ford Performance team will continue to pursue performance innovation, ensuring we can deliver even more coveted performance cars, utilities and trucks to customers around the world."
The overall sales performance of the Focus RS will rely heavily on Fords marketing strategy seeing that the car is new to the United States market, not to mention stiff competition. Nonetheless many car enthusiasts sees the upcoming release of the Focus RS on US soil to be Ford's strategy in order to compete with the current industry leader, the Volkswagen Golf R and the Subaru WRX STI.
