Oculus Rift headset customers planning to have it now have a general date as to when they can pre-order. Furthermore, it seems that not only will the Oculus Rift come out soon, pre-orders will come with a free copy of "EVE: Valkyrie."

It was announced earlier this year that pre-orders for the consumer version of Oculus Rift will come before the end of the year, with the official launch to follow during the Q1 2016. However, with just a week to go, fans are concerned whether the pre-orders will ever happen.

Fortunately, Oculus VR founder Palmer Luckey recently tweeted confirming that production of the Rift is going well and that developers are still on target for the launch date.

The Oculus VR founder as well assured prospective customers that pre-orders will come soon after new year, and he added that they will have ample time to prepare since the company will not launch the pre-orders without any heads-up.

Consumers ready to enjoy the VR experience have something to smile about since it implies that PC-based VR headset will hit the market by the end of March. Furthermore, the Rift will have an advantage over its rival, the HTC Vive, which reportedly will launch in April.

While there is no concrete information yet concerning the price of the Oculus Rift, Gizmag reported that consumers should be prepared to have the headset for $350, besides the cost of a computer with the necessary specs that can power the Rift.

Oculus RV specified that the upcoming Rift will require a high-end GPU and processor to run the two 1200 × 1080 displays, which is the per-eye resolution of the Rift. However, for consumers who do not want to go through the hassle of building their personal gaming computers, "Oculus Ready" computers will be released as well.

The Oculus Ready computers are guaranteed to have the necessary specs to run the Rift. Based on the specs chosen, some of the computers will go for less than $1000.

Meanwhile, consumers who pre-order the Rift will also get a free copy of the MMO space shooter "Eve: Valkyrie," according to Bonham Journal. Watch the clip below for detailed specs of the Oculus Rift.
