On the other hand, the Hyundai Santa Cruz has a cross-over truck and car concept. The Korean car maker made a loud buzz at the Detroit car show with its “convention shattering” concept of a vehicle. The company disclosed that the Santa Cruz concept’s goal was focused on how youths of today move about.

It is clearly not a Ford F150 but according to Hyundai’s Director of Corporate Planning Mark Dipko the max payload, towing, and ground clearance aren’t the point, at all.

“The Santa Cruz crossover truck concept meets the unspoken needs of a growing Millennial lifestyle we call ‘Urban Adventurers’,” added Dipko.

The half-truck and half-CUV concept has five people seating, a spacious extendable bed for whatever an urban adventurer may come across, LED-laden front end, four huge wheels, and a Honda Ridgeline-esque side profile. The Santa Cruz is a HCD15 model with an ultra-clean 2.0 liter turbo diesel engine delivering 190 horsepower, 300 lbs.-feet of torque; and a fuel economy rating “in the high 30-mpg range, Digital Trends reported.

The base price of the Hyundai Santa Cruz concept is not yet released.
