"Homeland" recently aired its final episode for season 5, and fans were not happy to know that Peter Quinn (Rupert Friend) has been killed off.

According to TV Line, the series concluded at an all-time high with 2.07 million viewers. This means that a lot of fans tuned in to watch the final episode.

The finale episode also served as the second highest rated season finale for the show, according to Design N Trend.

However, the comments from fans were far from being positive especially after they saw Friend's character being killed off.

One fan commented on the publication, "Why did you have to kill Quinn?"

Another fan wrote, "Quinn is dead!!! He was gonna be a vegetable. I will miss him. Just very disappointed that his & Carrie's storyline wasn't between the sheets. A little romance between these 2 spies wouldn't hurt the ratings. Yeah I know she was with Mr. Normal, but everybody luves a bad boy...anyone else feels this way?"

"I am not happy about Quinn dying either... It will be really hard to watch next season."

"I never thought the writers would kill Qinn L."

Meanwhile, there were also some fans who said that they will already stop watching the show because their favorite character Quinn is no longer around.

"I'm done with Homeland!"

"This show is no longer smart TV. It's full of clichés and easy to guess outcomes," another fan wrote.

In other news, despite the recent backlash for the hit Showtime show, the network still renewed "Homeland" for season 6.
