Rumors have emerged that former NBA star Nate Robinson is set to move to China and play for current league leaders Xinjiang Flying Tigers this season.

Asia-Basket reported that the Flying Tigers are "about to agree terms" with the 31-year-old three-time NBA Slam Dunk champion, although the length and amount of the contract offer are still undisclosed.

Robinson last played in the NBA for the New Orleans Pelicans after the team signed him for a one-year deal in October last year. He only played the first two regular season games for Alvin Gentry's squad before he was waived on October 29.

Right now, the former Washington Huskies standout is a free agent and several reports have come out that he is contemplating a move to China.

Speculations of Robinson heading to the Asian country have started since September of last year when Uproxx indicated that the 21st overall pick of the 2005 NBA Draft had been "seriously considering the CBA as his best last option after he failed to secure an invitation to an NBA training camp" last offseason.

No particular CBA teams were mentioned then, but this time the Flying Tigers are up front about their desire to sign the 11-year NBA spitfire veteran.

Robinson began his NBA career in 2005 for the New York Knicks after he and Quentin Richardson was traded by the Phoenix Suns, the team who drafted him, for Kurt Thomas and Dijon Thompson.

He spent five of his best seasons with the Knicks before he was traded to the Boston Celtics in 2010.

Robinson is an established NBA journeyman, having played for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors, Chicago Bulls, Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Clippers, and finally with the Pelicans late last year.
