With the bigger and faster iPad Pro 2 12.9 inch and 10.5 inch, Apple is expected to target and appeal more to the industries, business-related and education sectors, placing the company's tablet sales

Apple is expected to come out with an iPad Pro successor by next year, something touted to carry big improvements. Among the rumored features include a tablet carrying better water-resistant features and maximizing the use of the Apple Pencil.

Right now, the limelight is on the iPhone 7, Apple Watch 2 and the MacBook Pro. The first two are strongly believed to be debuting this week with the MacBook Pro still tentative. If not this month, the MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to be out by the Fall.

As for the iPad Pro 2, the next Apple tablet is likely to take the stage by 2017. Such was the call made by KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who also bared that there will be two tablets next year (10.5-inch and a 9.7-inch version), Apple Insider reported.

The iPad Pro 2 is expected to come out with improved specs. The 10.5-inch version will be powered by an A10X chip while the smaller 9.7-inch variant will rely on an A9X chip.

The larger variant will cater to the commercial and education sector, backstopped by improved screen zooming, scrolling, and panning, Bloomberg reported.

Aside from that, other features include better waterproofing expanding on the use of the Apple Pencil. Once released, an updated version of iOS 10 is expected to be released alongside the iPad Pro 2, opening new and wider integration to app use.

At present, the Apple Pencil’s use has been restricted to a select number of apps, practically wasting the things that the add-on can do with the tablet. There are of course more rumored specs out in the open.

Aside from the ones mentioned above, other features that the iPad Pro 2 may include a 12 MP iSight camera, a 5 MP front-facing HD camera, both likely to be armed with 4K video recording capability. Similar to the changes that Apple applied on the iPhone, the iPad Pro 2 is expected to be slimmer and lighter. This could mean the removal of the 3.5 mm jack as well.

Apple has not announced an official release date for the iPad Pro 2, something expected with the focus on the iPhone 7, Apple Watch 2 and MacBook Pro 2016. All that could change once all these upcoming products are out in the open.

The video below shows off some of the possible features that the iPad Pro 2 could come with.
