Apple could launch the iPad Mini 5 or the iPad Pro Mini along with the iPhone 7 which is already expected to be unveiled on September 7 through the company's own press event.
There have been little to no updates regarding the iPad Mini 5 in the past few weeks except for the fact that it can be renamed to the iPad Pro Mini instead. People are expecting the new iPad from the Cupertino-based tech giant to appear at the press event supposedly for the iPhone 7.
Tech bloggers and tipsters speculate that the iPad Mini 5 release date is near as its predecessor was released in September 2015 and Apple is known to stick to a strict pattern for their devices, Neurogadget has learned. However, some are still skeptical considering that Apple might want to focus on releasing the iPhone 7 first so as not to confuse people on which device to buy in the first place.
Apple is reportedly removing the standard 3.5mm jack on some iPhone 7 models and it could do the same for the iPad Mini 5. The device, which could also be called the iPad Pro Mini, would rely on the wireless earbuds or through a separate lightning connector from Apple.
What is known is that the iPad Mini 5 will be sporting the new Apple A9 processor which will make it faster than its predecessor especially with the 3GB RAM, The Bitbag reported. The 256GB storage option could also carry over to the iPad Pro Mini as people would want more space for their movies and games on the large screen.
Other iPad Mini 5 specs have not yet been revealed and the name itself is not yet confirmed. The iPad Pro Mini name could suit the new processor but it could also mean that the numbered Mini product line will be ended.
Besides the A9 processor, the iPad Mini 5 could also feature the 3D Touch that is also rumored to be featured in the iPhone 7. Fans will have to wait for the specs or whether the new device will be named the iPad Pro Mini instead on September 7.
