Harley Quinn's co-creator Bruce Timm himself said that the villain's new look in the upcoming "Suicide Squad" is "pretty cute." This followed reports about the brewing chemistry between Will Smith's Deadshot and Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn in David Ayer's anti-hero film.

Timm talked about Harley Quinn's first image from the upcoming "Suicide Squad" film at the Machinima Newsfronts, as per Polygon. Ayer's take on Harley Quinn received a positive response from the villain's creator himself.

The man who first gave life to Harley Quinn said that he was excited and "very open" to see a character he created being adapted in other media.

Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn was also the "standout of the cast" in Ayer's first "Suicide Squad" photo, as per Classicalite.

In the photo, it can be noticed that Harley Quinn really catches the eyes of the fans as she is the only one who is wearing a dominant light-colored costume.

The anti-hero's look differs from the look of other "Suicide Squad" members since she is also the only one who is not wearing pants.

Recently, Robbie reunited with her "Focus" co-actor Will Smith in the Toronto set of Ayer's upcoming film. One of the sequences they took was a confrontation between the two while a fake rain poured down.

Harley Quinn was initially created in 1992 by Timm and co-creator Paul Dini as a girl in a clown suit for "Batman: The Animated Series."  Then later on, the character has become a fan favorite that led her appearance to comic books.

Timm and Dini had no idea that the character will be one of the best-selling books and one of the stars in the live action film "Suicide Squad."

The film stars Robbie, Smith, Jared Leto, Jai Courtney, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, and Cara Delevigne.

Other cast members include Common, Scott Eastwood, Adam Beach, Ike Barnholtz, Jay Hernandez, Alex Meraz, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, and Karen Fukuhara.

Directed by Ayer, "Suicide Squad" is set to premiere in theaters on Aug. 5, 2016.
