While big franchises such as "The Avengers," "X-Men," "Batman v Superman," and "Suicide Squad" are igniting their momentum in their cinematic universes, Lucasfilm producer Kathleen Kennedy has given a green signal for the fifth installment of "Indiana Jones."
After some rumors that have been circulating online, Star Wars and Lucasfilm president and producer Kathleen Kennedy has confirmed that the fifth "Indiana Jones" film is now set to happen, as per Vanity Fair.
Kennedy said that another "Indy" movie has yet to be made in the company, but the exact timeline is still unclear.
The script is a priority for "Indiana Jones," before they eye for actors who will wear the fedora next. She added that the studio has not yet made a draft of the script, but they are talking about it.
Rumors have also surfaced online saying that "A.I. Artificial Intelligence" producer-filmmaker Steven Spielberg is returning to helm the newly confirmed project, as per Empire Online.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Spielberg is also known as the director of the 1993 film "Jurassic Park," starring Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum. He will produce the modernized sequel "Jurassic World," which stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard.
Spielberg is also to produce several films such as "Gremlins," "Reel Steel 2," and "Transformers 5."
Meanwhile, "Guardians of the Galaxy" actor Pratt has been attached to become the next fedora-sporting archaeologist, according to Empire Online. However, it was previously confirmed by "Guardians of the Galaxy" director James Gunn as untrue.
Given the circumstances, some fans still hope to see Pratt as the next Jones. Aside from his role as Owen Grady in Colin Trevorrow's "Jurassic World," Pratt is also set to appear in Antoine Fuqua's "The Magnificent Seven" in 2017.
No sufficient information is available at this point, since the project is in its early phase of development. Fans have yet to wait for further announcement as per exact plot details, the setting, the cast members, and the release date.
