New "Justice League" movie details will feature Commissioner James Gordon in the film and Green Lantern to make his appearance in part 2.
"Whiplash" star J.K. Simmons has joined the cast of Zack Snyder's take on the "Justice League" movie as Gotham City Commissioner Jamers Gordon in the DC Extended Universe. Simmons is no stranger to comic book characters as the Oscar winner first played the comically anti-vigilante Daily Bugle news editor J. Jonah Jameson in Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man" trilogy, not to menton reprising his role as Jameson again in the Marvel animated series "Ultimate Spider-Man" and "Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H." The Hollywood Reporter reported.
Recent reports speculated that Simmons could be playing Jameson again, this time in the Marvel Studios reboot of the "Spider-Man" on July 7, 2017 and he was open with opportunity to play once again opposite the new web-slinger Tom Holland. However, now that Simmons has joined the cast of the "Justice League" it seems that comic book fans that wished Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson will be a bit disappointed at the moment.
Comic book fans will know Commissioner Gordon as Batman's (Ben Affleck) greatest allies in the Gotham City Police Dept. and has been bringing info on the Dark Knight in the criminal underworld. "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" star Gary Oldman previously portrayed Gordon in Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Trilogy", while "Southland" TV series actor Ben McKenzie portrays a younger version of the character in "Gotham" TV series
In other news, several rumors are making rounds that Green Lantern will not likely appear in part 1 of the "Justice League" movie.
