New details for "The Flash" season 2 will feature the comebacks of Eddie Thawne to the show, and Barry Allen could team-up with the Reverse-Flash to fight Zoom.
A season 1 character is making his return to "The Flash" season 2 as Rick Cosnett wll reprise his role as Eddiw Thawne in a new episode titled, "Flash Back".
According to the plot synopsis. Barry Allen/The Flash will travel back in time during the events of season 1 and masquerade as his younger and inexperience self to allow Harrison Wells/Eorbard Thawne/Revese-Flash (Tom Cavanagh and Matt Letscher) to teach him to be faster in order to fight Zoom (Tony Todd and Teddy Sears), TVLine reported.
However, Barry did not expect to encounter two familiar faces from his past as Hartley Hathaway/Pied Piper (Andy Mietus) attacks the S.T.A.R. Labs team once again and the return of Eddie Thawne (Cosnett), Joe West's (Jesse L. Martin) partner and Iris' (Candice Patton) boyfriend who sacrificed his life to stop Reverse-Flash during the season 1 finale.
Edddie's death in season 1 took a huge emotional blow for Iris as she is still silently struggling with his death and Barry Allen blames himself for his death, which lead him to disband Team Flash and go on his on from the first haft of season 2.
Pied Piper on the other hand, has not been seen in "The Flash" TV series ever since he escaped from captivity when he pretended to help Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) in finding Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell) in season 2.
In other news, a new theory suggest that Barry Allen might need help in defeating Zoom in season 2.
Moviepilot writer Brian Medina theorized that in other to defeat the evil Earth 2 speedster, Barry Allen will need seek out the last person he would not expect to help him, Reverse-Flash. Both characters have animosity with one another with Barry having a grudge against Eobard for killing his mother, while the latter is bitter at The Flash due to the fact that he is destined to be his enemy and wants to ruin his life.
With synopsis for "Flash Back" revealed it seems that theory could happen at all as Barry will pretend to be his younger self, who is still oblivious to that Eobard replaced the real Harrison Wells and get him to teach Barry how to be faster in order to fight Zoom.
Medina added that with Eobard's teaching he could match Zoom's speed and save Earth 2 from his reign of terror.
"The Flash" season 2 will return on March 22 Tuesday 8pm on the CW Network.
