New details for "Supergirl" TV series will feature the plot synopsis for crossover episode with "The Flash", season 2 in the works and a possible crossover with "Arrow" soon.

The plot details for the long awaited crossover of "The Flash" and "Supergirl" have been revealed as the synopsis for "Worlds Finest" will tell how Barry Allen/The Flash (Grant Gustin) ends up in National City and how his alliance with Kara Danvers/Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) came to be.

According to the synopsis, Barry Allen/The Flash came to National city from another dimension as he helps Supergirl fight off two of her archenemies Siobhan Smythe/Silver Banshee (Italia Ricci) and Leslie Williams/ Livewire (Britt Morgan), Entertainment Weekly reported. It is clear that the "Supergirl" TV series is from another alternate earth following "The Flash" season 2's theme of alternate earths. the first sign of the crossover is when Barry along with Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) and Earth 2 Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanaugh) travel to Earth 2 to stop Zoom (Tony Todd).

In addition to the plot synopsis, there is also a new poster above that features both Supergirl and The Flash racing each other, paying homage to the "Superman #199" comic book where in Superman and The Flash race each other to determine who is the fastest man on the planet.

Showrunner Andrew Kreisberg teased that both Kara and Barry will race in the episode at some point and stated that its one of his favorite moments in the episode.

In other news, CBS CEO Les Moonves announced that the "Supergirl" TV series has been renewed, confirming a season 2 of the show along with other CBS owned TV series such as "Limitless", "Code Black", "Life in Pieces" and "Angel from Hell", IGN reported.

Lastly, "Arrow" star Stephen Amell tease a possibility of a crossover episode with Supergirl as he pointed out that his show has been the longest so far, and its success has paved the way from other DC series such as "The Flash", "Legends of Tomorrow", "Constantine", "Vixen" and many more.

John Constantine (Matt Ryan) was able to crossover to the "Arrowverse" thanks to the countless support from fans after the NBC cancelled "Constantine" season 2. With "The Flash/Supergirl" crossover on its way, it seems that an episode with Oliver Queen/Green Arrow could be planned very soon.

"Supergirl" returns on March 14 on CBS.
