"Game of Thrones" season 6 is set to release on April 24, but the book "Winds of Winter," which season 6 show was based from, will be delayed. It is unlikely for a TV series to be ahead of its based-book, and even if most fans of the book were indeed shocked and disappointed on how things turned out, they did still gave a larger room of patience for the author George R. R. Martin.
According to reports, Martin already had a meeting with HBO, discussing the ending of the series as well as the certainty that the book launch will not happen before the "Game of Thrones" season 6 premiers. This only says one word to the fans of the book, and that is spoilers. The author himself was also disappointed of not being able to finish the book on time, since it was originally scheduled to be completed at the end of 2015.
Martin admitted in his blog that he has written dozens of chapters already, but there are still a lot to rewrite. Martin also said that because "Game of Thrones" was able to close-in with the books worries him. This is because the TV series will undoubtedly reveal details that were not still exposed to the readers.

At the end of season 5, Jon Snow, played by Kit Harington, died due to stubbed wounds; however, fans should not worry because Harington was reportedly seen in the set of "Game of Thrones" season 6.
Knowing that "Game of Thrones" season 5 revealed the possibility of bringing a dead person to life, means, it is highly likely that his character will return this upcoming season. A story of the rumored biological parents of Jon Snow (Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark) is said to be included in the upcoming season.
"Game of Thrones" season 6 might also be the time to bow down before the new queen of Westeros, as rumors tells that Daenerys Targaryen will finally sit on the iron throne.
