Good news gaming enthusiasts as new details pertaining to "The Legend of Zelda" Wii U game were released. A Nintendo executive reportedly confirmed the developmental status of the next "Zelda" game, and gave further details on what the game will offer to players.
The development of "The Legend of Zelda" game for Nintendo Wii U was confirmed almost three years ago, in 2013. During the following Electronic Entertainment Expo in 2014, game producer Eiji Aonuma announced that the title would be released in 2015; however, unfortunately, 2015 has come and gone and still no Zelda game has been released.
Aonuma has since shed light on the reason for the delay in the game's release. In a video released on Facebook and YouTube, as reported by Polygon, Aonuma explains that the delay was caused by new developments and game possibilities that developers wanted to explore. According to Aonuma, the team behind the upcoming title on Wii U is more concerned about developing a great "Zelda" title rather than just meeting the deadlines.
"I feel strongly that our focus should be to bring all these ideas to life in a way that will make The Legend of Zelda on Wii U the best game it can possibly be" Aonuma was quoted as saying.
Months have passed and no word about the upcoming "The Legend of Zelda" has been released. Fortunately, Aonuma recently spoke to Famitsu about the upcoming game release. In the Famitsu interview, which was translated by Kotaku.com, Aonuma revealed that the team behind "The Legend of Zelda" Wii U game is already at the last stages of game development. In fact, on the day of the interview, Aonuma himself was busy creating and tweaking character dialogues.
"But, the game has really taken shape, and things have gotten easier. That means things are progressing well" explained Aonuma.
Moreover, Aonuma revealed that fans of the long running game franchise should ready themselves for something new. The game producer likened the new "Zelda" game for Wii U to the groundbreaking "Ocarina of Time." According to him, there would be a lot of surprises.
"Please look forward to it, because I think we'll be able to make 'something new' like Ocarina of Time was" gushes Aonuma.
The upcoming "The Legend of Zelda" for Wii U would be the nineteenth main installment in Nintendo's "The Legend of Zelda" series. According to Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime, the game would be released this year.
