Network carriers T-Mobile and AT&T are rolling out the Android Marshmallow update for LG G3.
AT&T is rolling out the update to LG G3, which has the build number MRA58K. The software firmware update's version is D859030k. Additionally, it also included all the new updates of the new security patch.
On the other hand, T-Mobile is also rolling out the Android Marshmallow update, as per its support page. Last week, it was testing the update and now the testing phase is complete and the rollout has begun for the users. Some users have already got the notification to update their devices and others will soon get it, as well.
The update is being rolled out in a phased manner, hence, users can check their devices to see if any operating system updates are available or not. To do so, they need to go to Settings> About Device> Software Update. If prompted for an update, then the user needs to download it via a stable and reliable Wi-Fi connection.
Moreover, the device needs to have more than 50 percent battery, else the download can be interrupted for lack of power. Alternatively, the device can also be connected to a power outlet, for uninterrupted download.
Furthermore, users who are desirous of the latest operating system but do not want to wait for the phased rollout notification, can download it in a manual manner, as well. They need to download it through the LG's PC application.
Meanwhile, the Verizon users of LG G3 have already received the update a few weeks ago. However, there is no confirmation from the other network carriers such as US Cellular and Sprint, as to when they plan to release the update for LG G3 users.
Incidentally, the new operating system makes LG G3 to work much faster, with minimum lag. In addition, it makes the device far more secure and less vulnerable to virus threats, according to BGR.
