Although Sony has yet to give a glimpse on "God of War 4," the ideas for the upcoming game is starting to pile up and it seems like fans are craving for brand new adventures involving a different myth.
Kratos has become one of the most iconic protagonists in video game history but fans would also like to see a fresh face in the fourth installment, News Every Day reported. This time, a mythical creature is pegged as the new protagonist that should be interesting enough to produce spin-offs and sequels.
Also, Sony is said to have hired 50 developers to help with the game's development which should be slated for a 2017 or 2018 release. In 2015, "God of War" head writer Cory Barlog wrote in his blog that they were focused on "God of War 3" re-mastered, but now that the game is out on gaming stores, Sony must have shifted their attention to the much-anticipated game, the publication added.
Meanwhile, Sony is doing their best to please fans as they want to provide a game with a set-up that will be loved by many. A survey is being held at PlayStation Lifestyle where fans can choose what they think will be the most ideal setting for the forthcoming sequel.
Fans are given the option of Kratos or a new character venturing to the world of Norse Mythology, which is perhaps the most popular option as of the moment. Also, fans are intrigued with Kratos setting his foot on Egyptian soil to battle Egyptian gods.
Some fans do not want to change anything as they find the Greek mythology still with plenty of things to offer. Moreover, it is said to be the entities involved in Greek myth is much more popular compared to Egyptian and Norse myth combined. The franchise has yet to scratch the surface of the Greek culture and the game should stick to what made it popular.
Lastly, some suggested that Sony take on the Christian myth. However, some believe it will be controversial considering that it is a religion with one of the biggest number of devotees.
