Dragon Ball Super has managed to introduce a peculiar and seemingly strong character with the start of "Future Trunks" arc. With the rumored strength of the latest opponent, it is being probed on whether the ultimate form of a Super Saiyan will somehow appear in this part of the series, like the highly speculated Super Saiyan God 3.
While it has been confirmed that the current Future Trunks in "Dragon Ball Super" episode 47 was the exact Future Trunks who appeared in "Dragon Ball Z," according to Attack of the FanBoy, still little is known about the ability of the latest opponent in the series. The appearance of Black or Black Goku in the series has mystified "DBS" fans, leading to multiple theories including the Potara ring fusion between a Makaioshin or Demon Realm Supreme Kai and Goku.
If such rumor is true, then Black Goku is beyond the normal SS level and on par with Goku's God essence, and such dominance emphasizes the inability of Future Trunks to defeat Black, according to Forbes. Having such level of power, it would likely be possible that another transformation is to be expected from the Saiyans, particularly from Goku, to defeat this new opponent. Thus, highlighting the possible appearance of the highly anticipated ultimate form of a Saiyan.
Witnessing the ultimate form of a Saiyan is not impossible or a far-fetched idea, especially considering the trademark unpredictability of the author Akira Toriyama. As witnessed on Golden Freeza and Super Saiyan God transformations, the possibility of a higher level of transformation for Goku and even Vegeta are endless.
Following such line of thinking, the next logical question would be about the nature of the ultimate form of a Saiyan. Based on ExperGamez' proposal, the ultimate form of a Saiyan or Goku would be the perfected base form. This would mean that Goku or Vegeta has already mastered the use Super Saiyan 3 and God essence without needing to transform, thus making them almost invisible.
However, though it may be tempting to adhere to such theory, it would still be better take things with caution and understand the proposal and concepts presented as means of speculation, especially the notion of Super Saiyan God 3. Guess we would just have to wait and see how thing will unfold in the coming episodes of Dragon Ball Super.
