After "Person of Interest" wrapped up, executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Greg Plageman are now talking of revivals and spinoffs. "Person of Interest" might have ended but Finch's (Michael Emerson) The Machine and code will endure. Resse (Jim Caviezel) took one for the team, but Shaw has returned on the street, communicating with the premiere ASI of the world.

There is likelihood that fans will see the rest of the members of Team Machine continue with some other irrelevant numbers in future. Executive producers Nolan and Plageman are ready to continue with the series despite the fact that they did not write "Person of Interest" Season 5 finale with that intention.

In an interview with TV Insider, Nolan said, "We configured the events of the last few episodes to reflect closure for this universe, the audience, the story. Look, we love the show; we'd love to continue telling stories in this space."

The producer added that none of the story moves is an attempt to quickly start a reboot. While they love working with the actors and the storyline, this is where they felt their story should end. However, Nolan expressed his readiness to do a reboot is they are given a chance to pick up down the road.

Apparently, Nolan is not the only person who would "watch the hell out of Shaw and Root and the Machine." There are many fans out there clamoring for a revival, or even a spinoff of "Person of Interest."

As it was discovered in "Synecdoche," Finch's crew is not the only group among the contacts of the Machine. However, the DC crew was not introduced entirely for their spinoff capability.

In a different interview with TV Line, producer Plageman said that in terms of the specific scenes, the excitement of meeting the other team in DC was also an attempt to answer one of the many questions about the series. It is possible that The Machine has other member around the world.

Avid fans of "Person of Interest" should remain patient to see whether a reboot or spinoff will come out. Here is a sneak peek to have a glimpse of what happened in "Person of Interest" Season 5 finale:
