Taeyeon has debuted her second solo album last June 28 with the title soundtrack called, "Why". Her song has surprisingly placed sixth for two days in the worldwide iTunes Album Chart.
Taeyeon shared the list with known pop artists such as Adele, Beyonce, Coldplay, Drake, Red Hot Chillers, to name the few.
According to international website SBS, "Why" which was released only a few days ago took the first place on the iTunes Album Chart in countries such as Brunei, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore and Vietnam. Taeyeon's second mini album also placed first in the Pop Albums Chart in 13 countries, SBS reported.
In addition, her new album topped the Korean singles chart as well. According to a report from Soompi, Taeyeon's "Why" album has topped live and weekly album sales charts like Hanteo and Synnara Records which has more songs compared to her first solo album. "Why" features a total of seven songs.
Soompi has also learned that Taeyeon is scheduled to make her stage comeback in "Music Bank" on July 1 which will be shown in KBS 2TV. She is set to have a series of TV appearances to perform and promote her new album. Taeyeon will be in MBC's "Show Music Core" on July 2. In addition, she will be at "Inkigayo" on July 3 and will be aired in TV station, SBS.
It is also reported that she will be having her first solo concert this month. In a report by SBS, the concert titled "Taeyeon, Butterfly Kiss" will begin at Olympic Park, Seoul from July 9 to 10. Besides, the second leg of her concert will be at Busan from August 6 to 7. The event will have a theme "butterfly kiss" which is a line between reality and dream.
Taeyeon is the leader of the Korean girl group, Girls' Generation. She debuted as a solo artist October of last year with her first mini album called "I" which featured artists like Dean and Hyoyeon, who is also a member of Girls' Generation. Her first single "I" was well-received by her fans and has received various awards and recognition.
