The situation in the east continues to worsen. Meanwhile, Chandler tries to tackle the enemies in Asia. The network has released a cryptic synopsis, providing vague details. According to the description for "The Last Ship" Season 3 episode 5 as published on Spoiler TV, Chandler continues to work on his mission. However, the path is full of obstructions.
In "Minefield," Chandler's mission takes a complicated turn worsening his position. To find out what exactly happens, fans will have to wait until next week when episode 5 goes on air.
Elsewhere, President Michener also struggles to deal with the problem as regional leaders pressurise him to for help.

In an interview with Buddy TV, showrunner Hank Steinberg and actor Jocko Sims, who plays the role of Lt. Carlton Burk, revealed what "The Last Ship" Season 3 episodes are about.
"In Season 3, the storyline is split between the action in Asia and the Presidency in the new White House in St. Louis. ... The drama is between geo-political issues of how to hold the country together and the question of how many resources should we give to saving the rest of the world when America is stretched very thin and trying to repair itself," Steinberg said.
"Initially, we hear that one of our supposed allies in China, President Peng, isn't distributing the vaccine the way we heard that he should. We head over for a summit to find out what's going on. And, while we're on that mission, like every other season, things happen. A huge, huge thing happens. It's just so cool," Sims added.
"The Last Ship" Season 3 episode 5 airs July 10 on TNT. More spoilers and updates are expected soon.
