No Man's Sky is one of the most anticipated sci-fi RPG exploration games in history but the launch seems to be sloppy as a day one patch will be issued when it finally rolls out.
Hello Games has recently announced that there will be a day one launch patch that will make major changes in No Man's Sky. Those who were able to nab an early copy of the game will be forced to delete their saves if they do want to have all the new features and improvements the patch will provide.
Several critics were already reporting that there were no copies of No Man's Sky being delivered to them, Forbes has learned. It turns out that Hello Games is slated to launch the critic's copies of the game also on the same launch date as everyone else.
Those who did post reviews and spoilers for the game are being told by Hello Games that they will be essentially playing a different game as the day one launch patch will bring significant changes in the experiences. One of the major changes is how The Universe in No Man's Sky is generated through the new algorithm in the day one patch, Kotaku reported.
Since the universe generation algorithm was changed, Hello Games now claims that galaxies now have altered shapes and are up to 10 times larger compared to the early versions of the title. They have also added in hazardous planets and dead moons for variety in the exploration aspect of the title.
No Man's Sky will now also see caves that can be as tall as 128 meters thanks to the new and improved terrain generation algorithm. The developers have also added in underwater erosion and geometric anomalies so that one galaxy can be entirely different from others.
Another interesting improvement is the larger ship inventories in No Man's Sky. Individual suit inventories are also made bigger by up to 2.5 times to give players more room to stuff their loot in.
No Man's Sky will be launching on August 12 for the PC with the day one patch. Players are advised to wipe their save files if they want to enjoy the new features along with the rest of the world.
