Recently, news circled around saying that a rap battle might happen between Hotline Bling star Drake and the rap god himself Eminem.
According to IBTimes, the rap battle rumor sparked during Hot 97 radio host Ebro Darden's interview with Drake, where the rapper stated that Eminem's time is over. The host then continued the interview by saying that a potential rap battle between the two might happen.
After Darden's statement, a lot of fans took it seriously although the host has been clearing the issue out, stating that everything was all a joke and the rap battle is a hoax; however, it seems like Marshall Mathers, aka Eminem, might have taken it seriously.
Sources claim that Eminem has high respects for Drake although he's just been in the industry for a couple of years. Sources added that studio wise, Drake could deliver his rap hits brilliantly, but when it comes to street rapping or free style rap like what Eminem is known for, "Drizzy would get destroyed."
Although some sources think otherwise, other sources claim that Eminem is just looking for trouble in order for his name to get attention again. Eminem hasn't released any hits since 2013 while Drake has been continuously releasing top charted hits. "Drake's sitting on top of the rap game and has been for a long time so it's quite natural for old dog like Slim who wants to be noticed again to take a shot at the king."
Drake doesn't believe that Eminem is really down for a rap battle with him, especially because it was all a joke. Drizzy and Eminem hasn't released any official statement regarding the issue.
In other news, Inquisitr reported that Kanye West has chosen sides and decided that he's going to take Drake's side if ever a rap battle ever happens.
"Eminem had been sitting idle for years, like duck just floating on water, and Drake's that huge crocodile that could just come out of nowhere and swallow his entire life."
Since Drake is becoming more and more popular in the industry Eminem has been very idle, a lot of people are stating the Eminem doesn't deserve the "rap god" status anymore because a lot of new artist has the same talent as him.
