Apple recently released a new version of the current iOS 9 mobile Operating System, making Pangu's iOS 9.3.3 jailbreak useless. The version numbered iOS 9.3.4 came just a few weeks after the release of iOS 9.3.3.
The Cupertino-based tech giant reportedly released iOS 9.3.4 after a successful exploitation and jailbreak from the Chinese hacker group. The latest version is currently available for all iOS 9 users through an over-the-air (OTA) update and it should be downloaded as soon as possible. While the newest iOS 9.3.4 version does not give any new features or operations, the update fixes a security problem in iOS 9.3.3.
The new update offers an important security update, according to the release notes from Apple's official website. There was no further information about the security issue except that it deals with an app that may execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges.
In addition, the new iOS 9.3.4 version deals with a memory corruption problem that was addressed via advanced memory handling. Essentially, Apple focused on patching the recent jailbreak version developed by Team Pangu.
Meanwhile, after Pangu's recent release of a new jailbreak method for iOS 9.3.3, the Chinese hacker is said to be busy working on iOS 10 jailbreak, according to Forbes. The released iOS 9.3.3 jailbreak is far from conventional jailbreak tools.
The previously released jailbreak tools were completely untethered, implying that once applied, the device remains in a jailbroken status and the jailbreak would only be revoked once the user reset the iPhone. However, the recently released tool for the iOS 9.3.3 jailbreak is a semi-tethered one.
As a result, user must run an application loaded on the device repeatedly every time the iPhone is rebooted in order to regain the jailbreak status. Furthermore, the jailbreak was believed to work only for seven days, and the user would be forced to run the application again.
