ASUS will be launching the Zenfone 3, Zenfone 3 Deluxe and the Zenfone 3 Ultra in India today with an event slated in the afternoon at New Delhi.
The Zenfone 2 line of smartphones has seen unexpected success in the past year with its mid to high-end specs and reasonable prices. ASUS is now looking to replicate that success with the new Zenfone 3 line with upgraded hardware and design.
ASUS CEO Jerry Shin will be attending the "Z3nvolution India" event where the Zenfone 3 variants will be unveiled once more for the Indian market in New Delhi, NDTV has learned. The company has already revealed each of the Android smartphone's specs during an event at Taipei before Computex 2016.
Most of the fans are looking to buy the ASUS Zenfone 3 Deluxe with a price tag of $499 which roughly converts to about Rs. 33,600. It would be the higher-end model in the series with the Zenfone 3 Ultra next in line at $479 or around Rs. 32,200.
The base Zenfone 3 variant, which costs $249 or around Rs. 16,800 will have the Snapdragon 625 processor. ASUS's Zenfone 3 Deluxe is powered by a Snapdragon 820 series processor and up to 6GB of RAM, Rappler reported.
Budget-conscious customers are more inclined to just by the base Zenfone 3 model (ZE552KL) but it will only have a 5.5-inch display compared to the Zenfone 3 Deluxe's 5.7-inch. For some users, a smaller screen might be preferred because of a higher PPI count considering that all models will have the same 1080p resolution across the board.
Users who want a phablet may also get the ASUS Zenfone 3 Ultra with its 6.8-inch screen. It can also be good for taking photos as it has the same 23-megapixel rear camera the Deluxe has and it also has a larger battery capacity of 4600mAh.
ASUS has already released the Zenfone 3 Max and Zenfone 3 Laser. The Zenfone 3 base model, Zenfone 3 Deluxe and Zenfone 3 Ultra are expected to be launched today in India along with the proper price tags for the Indian market.
