Season 4 of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." will feature a new character who is more incline to the supernatural side of Marvel comics as Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg), Daisy Johnson/Quake (Chloe Bennet) and the rest of the agents will have an encounter with Ghost Rider.
This version of Ghost Rider will be Robbie Reyes, who can transform into the Spirit of Vengeance when riding his hot rod. "Matador" star Gabriel Luna shared more detailed information about his take on Ghost Rider as Luna told The Hollywood Reporter that there is not much material about Robbie Reyes in the comics, and what he and the showrunners are trying to do make the character his own and their take on Robbie could expand the "Ghost Rider" canon.
Luna knew about the Johnny Blaze and Daniel Ketsch Ghost Riders from the comics and like any othe actor, he did his research and even teased an encounter with Quake at some point. Luna added the the Ghost Rider is a seperate entity that he continuously trying to struggle and he knew it was evil, and audiences will have a solid interpretation of the Spirit of Vengeance in "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 4.
Previous reports revealed that behind-the-scenes videos were leaked online when Instagram usernames "fernieb28" and "al3xand3r_th3_gr3at_" posted videos of a behind-the-scenes shoot of Daisy Johnson/Quake (Chloe Bennet) taking on Robbie Reyes/Ghost Rider (Gabriel Luna) in dangerous chase scene.
The videos feature Daisy on top of Ghost Riders hot rod as the it is speculated that both Quake and Ghost Rider will fighting each other in the show and the uploaded videos may indicate that the two will cross paths very early on in the show.
In other news, a new cast member will joining "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 4 as "Galavant" star Mallory Jansen will be playing the Life Model Decoy, Aida.
The LMD's were first teased at the end of "season 3" by Dr. Holden Radcliffe (John Hannah) as these robots can perfectly copy the appearance and mannerism of everyone, TVLine reported.
No other details on how Aida will be used in season 4, but how she fits into the larger story will be answered in the coming weeks.
The introduction of LMDs is a very bold move for "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." as it only further complicates whether or not someone is dead from here on out. They could very well kill off a character at the end of an episode and then reveal further down the line that it was merely an LMD and bring them back once again. Then again, there is no promise that the LMD technology is being used for S.H.I.E.L.D., unless Radcliffe has officially joined the organization in between the time jump.
"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 4 will air on Sept. 20 on ABC.
