New photos have emerged from the set of Marvel's "Thor: Ragnarok," confirming New York City as one of the locations in the upcoming threequel and also hints the possibility of a cameo by another superhero from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Chris Hemsworth, who plays the hammer-wielding Norse god "Thor" in the film, took to Twitter to share a picture of himself and Tom Hiddleston from the set and even though they're currently filming in Australia, the set has been re-created to look like New York City, according to IGN.
The photo shows Loki and Thor sitting in front of a newspaper stand offering fake newspapers like Big Apple News and Lady Liberty News, as Vulture pointed out.
That is not the only thing the on-set photos revealed. Australian writer and director Daley Pearson also tweeted a series of images from the set and one of them suggests a connection between "Thor: Ragnarok" and Marvel''s upcoming movie "Doctor Strange," which stars Benedict Cumberbatch as the Sorceror Supreme.
The picture in question shows Hemsworth holding a business card with the address "177A Bleecker Street" written across it. The address happens to be the address of Doctor Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum in New York City, according to HitFix.
It remains to be known if Cumberbatch will actually be making an appearance in "Ragnarok" but this tease surely strengthens the possibility of the surgeon-turned-sorcerer's return to the silver screen after his debut in Marvel's Cinematic Universe with his standalone "Doctor Strange."
In addition to Hiddleston and Hemsworth, "Thor: Ragnarok" stars Idris Elba, Anthony Hopkins, Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum, Karl Urban and "Hulk" actor Mark Ruffalo, who finished filming his scenes for the film last month.
"Thor: Ragnarok" is slated to hit theatres on Nov. 3, 2017 while "Doctor Strange" releases this Nov. 4. Watch the film's trailer below:
