Pokemon GO players can choose their desired team when they reach level 5. What if a player wants to change his team after selecting a team? Niantic has provided a way through which a player can change his team only once.
The opportunity to change the team in Pokemon GO is not available for all players. Only those players who have selected a team by mistake can request Niantic to switch teams. One should be aware of the fact that only those players who have not gained many XPs and are in low-trainer levels can request to change teams, TheBitBag reported.
Hence, players who have advanced to higher levels after selecting a team will not be allowed to switch teams. In order to change a team on Pokemon GO, players can visit this link and submit a request. The online form requires players to mention information such as email address, reason for request, nickname, operating system, device manufacturer and model and Pokemon GO version installed on the device.
Players who have tried to switch their teams through aforementioned procedure have stated on Reddit that the process is quite slow. Since it is the only official way to change the team, players should patiently wait for Niantic's response.
Some players have found another way to switch teams on Pokemon GO. However, it results in losing all the levels and XPs earned by the player.
It requires players to uninstall the game and wipe all the trace of game data from the device and reinstall it and start playing from the scratch. It is recommended to create a new Pokemon GO trainer account or use alternate Google account to login. As of this writing, there is no option available in the game that allows players to easily switch teams.
As changing a team in Pokemon GO is not an easy process, one should be careful in making a choice. It is advisable to research on the web and speak to friends and family for making a decision.

Legendary Pokemon are yet to appear in the game but rumors have it that the characteristics of these Pokemon can play a vital role in knowing the strength and weakness of Pokemon Go teams. A survey has revealed that the Team Mystic is the most popular Pokemon GO team followed by Team Instinct and Team Valor, Kotaku reported.
