"The Last Ship" Season 3 finale airs on Sept. 11, Sunday. TNT's post-apocalyptic drama will close with episode 13 titled "Don't Look Back" which will see the fight for America in its final stretch. Here are the detailed spoilers for the next chapter of the series. Read on to find out how the season concludes.

After defeating Peng in Asia, Tom Chandler returns to America to fight a bigger battle. Back in his country, he must tackle Allison Shaw and others who think he is a traitor and he is the one behind destroying the military.

The network has released a press release briefly describing what happens in the finale. According to Spoiler TV, "The Last Ship" Season 3 episode 13 "Don't Look Back" will see Chandler's fight for America reach its finishing line. However, before the battle concludes he is faced with a challenge that will change his life forever. Will Chandler be able to pass the final test?

Promo video for "The Last Ship" Season 3 finale is yet to be released. It is expected to be out after the television broadcast of episode 12 on Sept. 4. Stay tuned it will be updated here.

In the side note, "The Last Ship" Season 3 finale is written by Jill Blankenship and Onalee Hunter Hughes and directed by Peter Weller.

In an interview with TV Line, "The Last Ship" actor John Pyper-Ferguson, who plays the role of Tex revealed what to expect from the final episodes.

"You know, it's absolutely inevitable. They have to come together in some way, we hope - whether that's through absolute destruction or a little bit of luck and circumstance," Pyper-Ferguson.

In addition, the executive producer Steven Kane revealed how "The Last Ship" Season 3 ends during Comic Con 2016.

"This season ends with a sequence that only exists because we happened to witness it when we were in San Diego the first time," said Kane. "Something happened, a bunch of us were standing around, we started crying, and I said, 'That's our season finale.' It happens on a very small level and it happens on a very large level, but we learn every day," Kane said as quoted by Entertainment Weekly.
