Several Korean shows and actors are nominees in the Seoul Drama Awards 2016 being awarded on Thursday, Sept. 8.
For the TV Movie category, nominated was MBC’s "Splash Splash Love," while for the Mini-Series category, it is “Reply 1988” of CJ E&M. In Serial Drama, SBS’s “The Roots of Throne” was the nominee.
For the Individual Category, for Best Director, nominees are “72 Seconds” directors Kyunghwa Jin and Namjo Kim, while for Best Screenwriter, the nominee comes again from “Splash Splash Love” Ji-hyun Kim.
In the Best Actor category, nominee was Ain Yoo for “The Roots of Throne,” while for Best Actress, Seul-ki Kim of “Splash Splash Love” is the nominee.
There are 265 entries from 51 different countries for the Seoul Drama Awards 2016, but only 28 dramas were nominated in the Program categories and 28 artists in the individual categories.
Other than the Korean nominees, the seven TV movies nominated are: “Adidas vs. Puma – That’s the Name of the Game” from Germany, “First Response” from Canada, “Don’t Leave Me” from France, “Little Big Voice” from Austria, “Sabena Hijacking – My Version” from Israel, “Sherlock: The Abominable Bride” from UK and “The Beginning of Time” from Mexico.
In the Mini-Series, the seven other nominees are: “Amigos” (Belgium), “Deutchsland 83” (Germany), “Father” (Kazakhstan), “Mammon S2” (Norway), “Mr. Robot” (USA), “Shereen (Afghanistan) and “The Night Manager” (UK).
There are also seven other nominees in the Serial Drama, these are: “A Scholar Dream of Woman” (China), “Endless Love” (Turkey), “Lord of Shanghai” (Hong Kong), “Moses and the Ten Commandments” (Brazil), “My Lovely Hope” (Argentina), “Orphan Flowers” (Turkey) and “The White Slave” (Colombia.)
Finally, Comedy has only four nominees, as follows: “Baskets” (USA), “La Famiglia” (Israel), “Life in Pieces” (USA) and “Servant of the People” (Ukraine).
The nominees for the individual categories are all from the TV movies, mini-series, serial drama and comedy listed above.
