Hulk Hogan was released by the WWE last year for his racial tirade on a sex tape that was leaked online. However, the latest rumors suggest that Hogan might be returning to the WWE and his return date has been revealed.
The 62-year-old wrestling legend was erased from WWE history following some racial remarks in a leaked sex tape. Ever since that faithful day on July 24, 2015, he has not been mentioned in WWE shows until recently.
The image of Hogan and Hulkamania has appeared on several WWE Network shows lately and his name has been mentioned several times. Hogan also won his case against Gawker media and he is set for a possible return to the WWE.
According to Cageside Seats, the WWE is testing the waters on Hogan and they are observing if they will get a negative reaction. It is noted that with few people reacting negatively on the Hulkster, fans might see him return again.
If Hogan makes his comeback with the company, it will be for the fifth time during his career. He started in the WWE in 1979 when the promotion was still known as World Wrestling Federation. He departed the next year and wrestled for New Japan Pro Wrestling and the American Wrestling Association.
The Hall of Famer returned to WWF in 1983 wherein he became an instant star for the company during its Golden Age. He signed with World Championship Wrestling in 1994 and formed the New World Order with Kevin Nash and Scott Hall.
After Vince McMahon bought out WCW, Hogan returned to the WWE in 2002 and became WWE champion. His fourth return happened in 2014 and he became an ambassador for the company until his release.
According to Ringside News, Hulkamania will run wild again around WrestleMania 33 next year. He could be signed to a standard legend's deal or he can even be made an ambassador if there are no objections from outside companies.
Nevertheless, these are just rumors at the moment but the WWE is known for bringing back former talents no matter what happened in the past. Hogan is considered as one of the greatest WWE superstars of all-time and fans are hoping to see him once again inside the WWE ring.
