Sony has just revealed the new PlayStation VR box and its contents to hype up the community of PS4 players looking to experience virtual reality with their consoles.
VR headsets are starting to take over the world slowly even though they are still quite expensive. The problem is that a user needs a powerful PC rig with at least a GTX 970 or the GTX 1070 today from NVIDIA.
Console users now have the chance to experience most of the same games and with some exclusives through their PlayStation 4. Sony's new PlayStation VR is set to launch in two weeks and they have shown off what will be included in the package.
The new Sony PlayStation VR box will contain the headset itself and 18 PSVR games to give players the experience they want out of the box, Tech Radar has learned. Sony's PSVR box also contains an external processing unit, cables and one headphone.
Of course, interested customers will also need the PlayStation 4 itself if they want to use the headset. It could be an expensive purchase for those who do not have the console yet and they may want to wait until the PS4 Pro has been released for an even more powerful device.
Sony is selling the PlayStation VR core bundle box for $400 but it does not even include the PlayStation camera and the Move controllers, Engadget reported. The camera is needed for the room position and motion tracking while the controllers will be used for the hand tracking.
It could be confusing for some considering that Sony named their bundle the PlayStation VR core box. Some customers could be frustrated when they find out that the box's contents are not enough to play their PSVR games or even try the headset itself.
Nevertheless, those who know what they should buy can purchase the PlayStation VR box on October 13 in the United States and other markets. Preorders are still available and it could be a wise option if customers do not want to line up on retail stores on the day itself only to find out that there aren't any stocks available.
