The South Korean tech giant, Samsung, has resumed sales for its recalled Samsung Galaxy Note 7 via T-Mobile. Customers having a recalled Note 7 will have their device exchanged for a new model or issued a full refund.
The manufacturer has replaced most of the defective Note 7 handsets and it is shipping them to the United States carriers to stock them. T-Mobile has resumed sales of the Galaxy Note 7 today, Oct. 5 and in participating stores countrywide.
"Customers with a recalled Samsung Galaxy Note7 can bring it to a T-Mobile store and exchange it for a new CPSC-approved Galaxy Note7 replacement or, if there are no replacement Note7s available, get a temporary device," read a statement on T-Mobile official website. "We'll waive any restocking charges, and customers can keep the free Netflix subscription and Gear Fit or SD card they received with purchase during pre-order."
According to the statement, customers can as well exchange their recalled Note 7 and any Note 7 accessories they bought from the carrier for a full refund and choose from any devices in stock. T-Mobile posted the information online and addressed clients who may have a defective Galaxy Note 7.
Most customers have increasingly embraced the idea of jumping to phablets with screen sizes close to a small tablet. Apple reportedly increased the production of its new 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus because of high demand for the smartphone, which remains sold out.
The high demand is seemingly attributed to a change in speed after the iPhone 7 Plus updated to a beta version of iOS 10.1, according to BGR. Samsung hopes to capitalize on the fact that the iPhone 7 Plus is sold out as it re-launches its recalled Galaxy Note 7.
The manufacturer was receiving a lot of credit for its new flagship phablet before reports emerged that the Galaxy Note 7 had defective batteries. Samsung made the Note 7 out of premium metal and glass, besides using a unique curved edge display that not only makes the phablet stand out from competitors, but also adds a UI that is accessible by swiping the right side of the screen.
The Note 7 is packed with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC, 4 GB of RAM, and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Samsung announced that the Note 7 would receive an update to Android 7.0 Nougat.
It is the first device from Samsung that features an iris scanner that allows users to unlock it by staring at the screen, in addition to being the first Galaxy Note to be waterproof and dust resistant. Watch the footage below for more information on Samsung Galaxy Note 7.
