Microsoft and Apple are going to war again to claim the innovative tech throne after the two giants unveiled new products over the last few days. While Microsoft introduced the Surface Studio desktop computer, Apple showed off its new Macbook Pro.
Microsoft now has an interesting offer for those looking to make the switch from the Macbook to the Surface. The Windows maker is offering up to $650 off to users willing to exchange their Macbook Pro or Macbook Air for a Surface Book or Surface Pro online or at a Microsoft retail store, Brian Hall, corporate vice president of marketing for Microsoft devices, said in a post on Microsoft's official blog.
"If you have a Mac but want to experience the ultimate laptop with on-screen touch, Surface and Microsoft Store are here for you," Hall said in the blog post. The trade-in offer will be a limited-time promotion and expires on Nov. 10.
Microsoft unveiled the Surface Studio during its Windows 10 event in New York on Oct. 26, Wednesday. The Redmond-based company also announced the arrival of the all-new Surface Book with improved battery life and enhanced graphics at the event.
Meanwhile, Apple revealed its upgraded Macbook Pro line-up on Oct. 27, Thursday in California. The flagship laptop features a fancy new "Touch Bar," an OLED touchscreen panel located above the keyboard that replaces the old function keys, according to ZDNet.
Windows is giving Apple a run for its money with its innovative and flexible touchscreen products that can beturned into a laptop or tablet. The Cupertino-based company has refused to incorporate full touchscreen controls in its devices, saying that the feature does not make sense. The coming few months will surely be very interesting as the two behemoths go head-to-head for tech supremacy.
