George R.R. Martin, author of popular book and TV series "Game of Thrones", recently aired his dismay on the result of the presidential elections in the United States. In a blog post titled "President P---ygrabber", 68-year-old Martin used a line from his "Song of Ice and Fire" book by saying "Winter is coming. I told you so."
Voicing out his bleak outlook of Hilary Clinton's defeat, he said, "There are really no words for how I feel this morning. America has spoken. I really thought we were better than this. Guess not," Martin said on his blog.
"Trump was the least qualified candidate ever nominated by a major party for the presidency. Come January, he will become the worst president in American history, and a dangerously unstable player on the world stage," Martin continued.
The author believes that the Democrats, being the minority in the House and Senate, will not have the power to hinder Trump. He expects that America's problems are going to get much, much worse.
Martin campaigned for Hilary Clinton during the elections and openly criticized Trump. In a series of blog posts made before the elections, Martin has expressed his resentment over Donald Trump's behavior. After the people of the United States selected Trump as their 45th president, everyone was abuzz with different opinions, including the author.
Meanwhile, Martin is still writing his novel "The Winds of Winter", which will come after "A Dance with Dragons" published in 2011. It is set to be the sixth and final installment of his fantasy series "A Song of Ice and Fire", to which HBO TV Series "Game of Thrones" is based.
Martin's stories depict many kinds of leaders, often power hungry and corrupt. "Game of Thrones" Season 7 is already in production and will premiere in 2017, Independent reported.
