Braun Strowman will be part of team Raw facing team SmackDown at the 2016 edition of WWE Survivor Series while Sami Zayn takes on Dolph Ziggler for the Intercontinental championship over at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.
The booking for both Strowman and Zayn are technically new storylines following a botched pairing that obviously wasn’t going anywhere. To recall, Strowman got Zayn as his more credible opponent following weeks of manhandling unknown wrestlers.
Despite the star power of Zayn, the matchup was an obvious mismatch. Strowman’s size alone was glaring and apparently the creative team pulled the plug with Survivor Series serving the perfect pay-per-view to send both WWE stars separate ways, Bleacher Report reported.
It remains to be seen though if the WWE would re-ignite the feud though such has failed to spur up interest. But what if Zayn defeats Ziggler and bring the Intercontinental title to Raw? Would that not be reason to resume the Strowman vs. Zayn feud?
The thing here is that it is a mismatch from the beginning. There is no way that Zayn can conquer Strowman unless there are external factors or Zayn starts resorting to disqualification maneuvers to keep the Intercontinental title.
Before going that far, Zayn needs to win over Ziggler first before storylines can be made. Compared to Strowman, his chances at victory are obviously better, WWE.com reported.
As for Strowman, he towers over his Raw teammates and team SmackDown. He will likely turn out to be the difference factor against a team that includes his former stable – the Wyatts.
Strowman showed his power during the Nov. 7 edition of WWE Raw and it took a team effort to get him down. Heading to WWE Survivor Series, that could be hard to do especially with Universal champion Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns in his corner.
Strowman has yet to get a formidable opponent though the word out is that he may eventually compete for the Universal title. But the twist is that some are under the impression that Reigns will win the title from Owens at some point and such will draw the interest of Strowman for a first-ever WWE title. All that depends on what happens on Nov. 20 at the Air Canada Centre.
