Rapper Jessi, 27, has been accused of physical assault for the second time in two weeks. The artist was reportedly involved in a physical altercation during a night out in Seoul, according to law enforcement authorities.
Apgujeoung police said they received a call at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Nov. 17, Wednesday, to report a physical assault. The police arrived at the scene to learn that the altercation took place during a music video shoot at a nightclub in Gangnam District, in which the rapper was also involved.
"There were two groups involved, Jessi's team and alleged male victim A's team, and they got into a verbal dispute over the fact that one group didn't receive the greeting of the other group," Soompi quoted the police as saying. "Things escalated into a physical altercation."
The police said that victim A testified against Jessi and claimed that the rapper physically attacked her, but Jessi has denied the allegations. The officials further pointed out that the testimonies of the victim and Jessi did not match up but both parties did not want to be penalized and therefore made up and resolved the matter at the scene.
Jessi was apparently at the shoot for her cameo in Double K's upcoming music video. The rapper's label YMC Entertainment issued an official statement saying that reports of a physical assault were false and Jessi and A are good friends.
"They were playing around when someone mistook their actions and called the police," the agency said in a statement obtained by AllKPop. "It was just something that happened, and there are no problems."
This is not the first time Jessi has been accused of physically assaulting someone this month. There were reports claiming that the "Unpretty Rapstar" alum raised her hand on her own manager. However, her agency later refuted the reports, shrugging them off as false rumors.
Jessi recently opened up about her breast implants on an episode of "Happy Together." Watch the video below:
