"Mass Effect: Andromeda's" side missions will include raids in enemy bases and battles against giant bosses. Information about the game's new spaceship, Tempest, was also revealed.
Producer Mike Gamble told Game Informer in an exclusive interview that most planets will have some level of hostility. These will be represented by enemy bases or hideouts, which will be specific to that planet. He said that this will make the number and the type of side quests that they could do much more interesting compared to the ones in the prequels.
Players should expect a long battle if they take on a base and they should be prepared with weaponry, armor, and ammo. They should be careful not to cause too much trouble inside the base if they do not want the alarms to sound off. If they do sound off, they need to shut them down before more reinforcements come in.
Gamble revealed that giant bosses will be a difficult task to finish, which is why he advised players to be prepared for them too. He revealed that there will be creatures and encounters that are too difficult, which lets players realize that this will be a battle that they need to be prepared for. They will know that they are not ready for this encounter, but they will come back for more.
Players will find objects or areas that they can scan on planets, and then send the information back to the ship to be analyzed. These items can be used as materials to create weapons and armor for them to use in battle.
Drop zones can be discovered by players in "Mass Effect: Andromeda," which can be used as fast-travel points and where players can customize their loadout before they head to the field. These drop zones will also serve as a point of interest on the map.
According to another post on Game Informer, players will be able to use the new ship in the game called the Tempest. It will have its own distinguishing features, facilities, features, technology, and more, but it still has some similarities to the first ship from the prequels called the Normandy.
The Tempest is a smaller version of the Normandy, but it is built for scouting. It might not look so different when it flies through space, but it will look different when it lands on a planet.
