ASUS has confirmed that the Zenfone 3 Deluxe will not be launching in Canada anymore but no reasons were given by the Taiwanese tech company.
Canadian customers were excited when ASUS announced that they were going to bring the Zenfone 3 Deluxe. However, the shocking news could leave them disappointed considering that the phone has already been launched in the United States and other countries.
There are still ways to get the phone besides the official retailers. In fact, it would actually be cheaper since ASUS announced that the Android smartphone will cost CAD$699 or around $516 which is more expensive than the original price in US dollars.
Best Buy, Canada Computers, Newegg and other popular retailers in the country were supposed to carry the ASUS Zenfone 3 Deluxe, Android Authority has learned. The said retailers have not commented on the issue yet and they probably would not because of non-disclosure agreements.
The Deluxe model is the most expensive one in the ASUS Zenfone 3 line. It packs the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with the Adreno 530 GPU. It also has an outstanding 6GB RAM which is overkill for the average user even if there are several apps opened in the background.
One of the marketing claims for the ASUS Zenfone 3 Deluxe is its photography capabilities, thanks to the 23MP main camera with a large aperture of f/2.0. However, the cameras in the LG V20, Google Pixel and even the iPhone 7 can still edge out the said device.
Another disappointing bit of news is that ASUS has also canceled the launch of the base Zenfone 3 model in North America, Android Community reported. The reasons were also undisclosed and there are still no speculations as to why.
Customers in the U.S. will have to dish out extra cash for the Zenfone 3 Deluxe, which is not available in Canada. Amazon listings show that the Zenfone 3 Deluxe model costs as low as $399 which is less expensive than the expected price in Canada.
Customers are left with no explanation but ASUS could still announce why they are not releasing the said models. The Zenfone 3 Deluxe is the only choice of North American consumers while the Canadian consumers do not have that option.
