Meizu, another rising name in the mobile industry, is reportedly making an Android tablet running their own Flyme OS software. There are also leaks regarding new Blue Charm X models and the M5 Note.
Besides Xiaomi, Meizu is another prominent name in the mainstream Android smartphone market. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer is now reportedly planning to release an Android tablet along with a few new smartphone models presumably in 2017.
Popular Chinese microblogging site Weibo has seen a verified account for a Meizu Blue Charm Tablet which could be one of the new Android devices from the company, Android Headlines has learned. Another interesting leak is a picture with text that reads "Flyme for Tab" which can be clearly translated as Meizu launching their Flyme OS for a tablet version.
Unfortunately, there is no official confirmation yet from Meizu. The verified account could signal an Android launcher from the company that is targeted for tablets but not a hardware product itself.
Meizu could also be unveiling the M5 Note and the Meizu Blue Charm X as the company already sent out invitations for a Nov. 30 event, Phone Arena reported. The Blue Charm X M582Q model will reportedly feature 32GB of internal storage and a generous 3GB RAM while the M682 variant will be larger at 64GB internal storage and 4GB RAM.
Both Meizu Blue Charm X models are also expected to run the new Flyme 6 Android skin which is based on the updated Nougat 7.0 version. The Helio X20 SoC from MediaTek is expected to power both variants and that is highly plausible considering that most affordable smartphones coming from Asia are powered by MediaTek.
Also, Meizu could be introducing the new M5 Note at the upcoming event. It will reportedly be powered by a Helio P10 chipset with just one 32GB variant.
Fans should wait for the Nov. 30 event to see whether Meizu will be unveiling the new tablet, Blue Charm X models and the highly anticipated M5 Note.
