Bungie has recently ended the "Dawning" event for their current hit FPS video game, "Destiny." However, with the New Year, the developers have announced they have big plans for the franchise. This may include a potential release of the highly anticipated "Destiny 2."

The developers greeted their fans and announced that there are still events from "The Dawning" that is still available in the game. Strikes from the Nightfall or SIVA Crisis playlists are still available and the Competitive Spirit Record Book can still be completed but only through private matches.
Some of these activities include Strike Scoring, Commander Zavala's Weekly Elite Bundles, Bounty Trackers' Daily Vanguard Elite Bounties. Private match Sparrow Racing, Weekly Treasures of the Dawning from completing a Heroic Strike and both Silver Dust Store and Eververse items are also still available.
"Destiny" will also see the return of the weekly updates starting on Jan. 12, Gameranx reported. These events have taken a hiatus over the holidays but will be brought back in now that the employees have returned to continue work and that "The Dawning" event has ended.
One of the most widely speculated announcements coming this year is the "Destiny 2" release date. The developers confirmed the game is in development although no details regarding its campaign story, gameplay changes or cast of voice actors.
