Lee Min Ho, 29, is getting praise for more than just his acting skills. "The Legend of the Blue Sea's" martial arts director complimented the Hallyu star for his strong work ethic and dedication to his action scenes.

Martial arts director Yan Gil Young cannot stop praising Lee for his splendid action scenes during a recent interview with local media, as cited by Soompi. The former, who worked with the latter in 2011's "Faith" and 2012's "City Hunter," said the actor has a strong grasp of basic action skills and his athleticism is indeed outstanding.

"It's not just in Spain, but also places like the tea fields and the abandoned building," director Yan added. "It's all because of him that the action scenes were possible, and it's also thanks to him that the viewers have been giving rave reviews."

Director Yan revealed Lee did not use a stunt double at all and actually performed all the action scenes himself. It comes alive most when he is in the governor's uniform, wielding his sword in flashy movements. It apparently made the director exclaim, "so cool" and "so handsome."

Further, the "Boys Over Flower" actor is said to be the mood-maker on the set in light of his considerate and friendly personality. As he waits for his scene to be filmed, Lee is always seen humming to himself or laughing with his co-stars.

As per the drama's staff, whether Lee is filming or just waiting for his turn, he always shows concern and courtesy to everyone even those whom he only sees once in a while. Together with his smile that brightens up the atmosphere, one cannot resist but become his fan immediately, the staff added.

Meanwhile, the 20-episode SBS drama would be Lee's last project before he enters into the military for roughly 2 years. He will enlist as a public service officer instead of an active duty soldier, according to MYM Entertainment, as cited by News Nate.

The actor was given a prohibition from the common military service when he got involved in a serious car accident in 2006 and in 2011 amid the filming of the SBS drama "City Hunter." It is said that half of the vehicle he was in was crushed.
