Huawei is now rumored to be working on its next flagship, the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus. Both the next flagships are slated to get announced in March or April 2017.
The Huawei P9 and P9 Plus were announced in April 2016. In December 2016, it was reported that both the smartphones have crossed 10 million sales mark. Huawei Consumer Business Group CEO Yu Chengdon has revealed that successors for Huawei P9 and P9 Plus would be unveiled by March or April, The Android Soul reported.
Huawei P9 and P9 Plus are powered by HiSilicon Kirin 955 chipset. However, its successors are expected to be powered by Kirin 960 chipset. The SoC features four high-powered Cortex A73 processors and four low-powered Cortex A53 processors. It also includes Mali-G71 MP8 graphics. The chipset is rumored to be coupled with 6 GB of RAM and it is expected to include a 256 GB native storage.
Huawei collaborated to add dual cameras from Leica on Huawei P9 and P9 Plus. The secondary camera of the dual camera setup would to enhance the topnotch photography of the main camera. The two companies are expected to partner once again to bring dual cameras to the upcoming P10 and P10 flagships.
Other rumors surrounding the upcoming Huawei flagship includes features like on-screen fingerprint readers, wireless charging and dual-edge curved displays. Huawei is also expected to launch a lighter version of its flagship with Huawei P10 Lite moniker.
The Huawei P10 Lite is expected to arrive in two variants flagships that are codenamed as Vicky and Victoria. These midrange devices are said to be successor models for Huawei Nova series.
The Huawei Mate 9 was recently released in the United States with a pricing of $599. It comes with a 5.9-inch screen full HD display, a Kirin 960 chipset, a 4 GB of RAM and a native storage of 64 GB.
Huawei also already started rolling out Nougat update for its devices. The company has already release Android 7.0 Nougat update for P9 and Mate 8 users in Asia. The other Huawei smartphones that are slated to get the latest edition of Android include Huawei Nova, Nova Plus and P9 Lite, GSM Arena reported.
