The fourth main installment of "God of War" has been one of the most anticipated titles since it was made known at the Sony event in 2016's Electronic Entertainment Expo. This made Santa Monica Studio dish out something online as a form giving back to fans for their continued support for the game franchise over the years.

Game director Cory Barlog stated back then that they will be giving something back to "GOW" fans as a form of saying thank you to them after the upcoming game's announcement trailer has been viewed 15 million times. Barlog kept his end of the bargain as they released an MP3 version of the overture that was played during the game's big reveal, according to DualSHOCKERS.

The said musical piece was conducted by Bear McReary who was also responsible for "The Walking Dead's" musical score. The game developer, on the other hand, took to Twitter to thank fans and even posted a link of the sound clip alongside the said tweet.

Fans are now wondering as to when will the game would come out. Santa Monica Studio has remained mum about such information which made some fans speculate that the game might be delayed. Such theory was further strengthened when the game developer announced that they are in need of key talents to help them with their ongoing project. Nevertheless, Barlog doused such rumors by saying that the game is already playable from start to finish internally.

As of late, it seems that the said long-standing question of fans may have finally been answered by Amazon's website as the listing for the upcoming game has been spotted. It suggests that the upcoming title will be released on Dec. 29, 2017 and is currently on pre-order status with a price tag amounting to $59.99.
