With "Goblin" continuing to post strong TV ratings as it nears the end of its 16-episode run, songs from the tvN drama's soundtrack also became chart toppers. Recently, Ailee's sad ballad nabbed the number one spot on several South Korean music charts.
Ailee's song for the "Goblin" OST titled "I Will Go to You Like the First Snow" have captured the hearts of music lovers and Korean drama fans. Released during the weekend of Jan. 6, the said track became one of the popular songs in South Korea and even secured a number one spot in several local charts.
A week after its debut, Ailee's track made a landslide win when it reigned over all the major music charts, according to All Kpop. As of Jan. 13, Friday, "I Will Go to You Like the First Snow" topped the Daily and Real Time charts of Melon, Mnet, Bugs, olleh and Soribada, as well as the Genie, Naver and Monkey3 music lists.
Meanwhile, South Korean balladeer Roy Kim joined the list of musicians who recorded a song for the "Goblin" OST. Titled "Heaven," the said track featured a duet between the said singer and Kim Yi Ji.
The said song is the twelfth track to be released from the tvN drama's soundtrack, according to a separate All Kpop report. With the two musicians' soft vocals coupled with the song's beautiful melody, "Heaven" is also expected to become a chart topper.
In other news, "Goblin" episode 13 posted record-high TV ratings for the tvN drama. Viewership shares rose to 16.5 percent in Seoul and 14.2 percent across the South Korean nation, according to Nielsen Korea, as cited by OSEN.
Nationwide ratings for the said episode also crossed the 15 percent mark when cable platform and subscription platform viewership numbers are combined, as indicated in the same report. Moreover, given the cliffhanger ending of "Goblin" episode 13, TV ratings are also expected to soar during the drama's upcoming final broadcast week.
