Jeremy Lin feels he is well enough to return to action though the Brooklyn Nets plan to follow protocol. After two hamstring injuries, the last thing head coach Kenny Atkinson wants is to risk the 28-year-old guard’s health.

Lin claims that his recovery from his latest hamstring injury is going faster than expected than the first one, hoping to play in a week or two via CCTV5 and reported by the New York Post.

"We have different tests every day. So those include evaluating my muscle strength, getting an X-ray, MRI (exam)," Lin said in the interview.

For Nets head coach Kenny Atkinson, Jeremy Lin’s competitive nature is laudable but maintains that they will stick to the doctor’s orders over rushing him back to help Brooklyn’s campaign. That said, Lin is not expected to suit up this Sunday when the Nets take on the Houston Rockets at the Barclay Center.

One person who was hoping to see Lin suit up is Borchen Hsu, vice president of the Taiwanese American Council of Greater New York. Hsu wants Lin to grace the “Taiwanese Culture Night” though he is aware of Jeremy Lin’s predicament.

Over 1,000 Taiwanese-Americans are expected to be at the Barclays Center where special programs and prizes await those in attendance. Among the festivities include a halftime show featuring the Santaizi dancers who will be dressed in colorful gods and deities costumes.

Rapper Dwaggie will also be in attendance. The first 10,000 fans present will be given Jeremy Lin bobbleheads sponsored by Kenda, NBC news reported.

Even if Lin does not play, Hsu does have one simple request for the 28-year-old guard. All he wants Jeremy Lin to say is “Welcome to Taiwanese Culture Night from the Nets”. He also emphasized that the community will be behind Lin regardless of his current predicament.

The Nets continue to struggle without Lin and trades are believed to be happening. Players like Brook Lopez, Sean Kilpatrick, and Bojan Bogdanovic could be moving before the February NBA trade deadline following a spotting of Nets officials meeting at local Starbucks store.
