The release schedule of Android 7.0 Nougat and EMUI 5.0 for Huawei smartphones and tablet have surfaced.
The Android 7.0 Nougat and EMUI 5.0 was introduced in November 2016 on Huawei Mate 9 flagship smartphone and now the Chinese manufacturer is working on releasing the firmware upgrade on other devices, Gizmo China reported.
Instead of directly rolling out the final version of its firmware, the company is following a pattern of releasing beta editions of its firmware and then later it will release its stable version. An alleged official chart that is said to be Android 7.0 Nougat EMUI 5.0 release schedule for Huawei devices in China has surfaced on Weibo.
It reveals that the first beta for Huawei Mate 8, P9, P9 Plus, Honor V8, Honor 8 and Nova were rolled out in November 2016. In December 2016, it was made available to Huawei G9 Plus. The Honor 6X and tablets like Huawei Note 3 and Huawei M3 are slated to get the beta edition within this month.
The chart also suggests that the full upgrades for Chinese users began on Jan. 6 for Mate 8 users. It then arrived to P9 and P9 Plus users on Jan. 9. On Jan. 16, the update arrived to Honor V8 and Honor 8.
The full Android 7.0 Nougat and EMUI 5.0 upgrade is expected to come to Huawei Nova and Nova Plus in March. The G9 Plus phone and Honor Note 8 tablet are schedule to get full upgrade in April. In May, it will be coming to Honor 5X and M3 tablet.
A teaser from Huawei had revealed that Huawei P9 and P9 Plus would be getting EMUI 5.0 before the start of Spring Festival that is expected to last from Feb. 7 to Feb. 13 in China. Beta testers have already beta version of the firmware in November 2016. The new teaser indicates that the full upgrade for these days may arrive by the end of this month or in the first week of February.
The Android 7.1.1 Nougat update is not listed on the chart for any devices. However, the Nexus 6P manufactured by Huawei received in on Dec. 5, Tech Times reported.
