The latest details for "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" will feature a new Capcom character coming soon and a possible late 2017 release date.
It seems that a new Capcom character will be coming to the roster of "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" soon as NeoGaf username Ryce teased that a particular Capcom villain will debut in the latest sequel. While the identity of this villain is still unknown, Ryce teased that this character will be "sick" and gaming fans will enjoy playing as this character in battle.
"Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite's" playable roster consist of Captain America, Captain Marvel, Iron Man, Ryu, Mega Man X and Morrigan. Capcom representative Michael Evans teased the "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite's" storyline will be the pillar of the game and the new characters Mega Man X and Captain Marvel will play an important role into the plot.
Marvel Game's representative Mike Jones added that the "core" foundation that Marvel made from TV series, movies, games etc. is the storytelling and so with the new emphasis on the cinematic story mode and the story of how these two universes collide, and how the characters meet. it drove a lot of the creative decisions for what characters to use in the game.
In other news, several rumors are making rounds regarding the possible release date for "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite".
The first trailer of "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" only hinted a 2017 launch for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms. However, it is hinted that sequel could be out in the later part of next year, either in third or fourth quarter.
Unless, Capcom has actually been developing the title for a huge amount of time and thus has nearly all of the work done on it, there is still a great deal of work to do for "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" before the game can be released in all gaming platforms, Segment Next reported.
Previous reports revealed game co-producer Peter Rosas explained the reason for bringing back the 2v2 format in "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" as he feels that players were encumbered with too many decisions before a brawl even began as the team sizes are rather unwieldy, as the first and second character picks often were more important than the third, which is typically a tacked on selection.
Simply put, Capcom whittled down the team sizes for "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" so as to assist players who are novice or new to the game series, in making the game more accessible and to present a sense of camaraderie among the characters fans select to do battle.
Capcom also brough back the Infinity Stones to "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" as power-ups that the characters used during battle. For instance, Ryu can use the Power Stone to increase the damage of his attacks, while Captain Marvel can use the Time Stone to be faster and quicker in her attacks.
Other features include single-player Arcade, Training, and Mission mode, as well as a cinematic Story Mode that puts players in between both universes as they fight to the top to take on the game’s new villain who is revealed to be at the end of the cinematic trailer.
"Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" will launch sometime in 2017 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
