There is only quite a few  updates about the "Orange is the New Black" Season 5 cast and when exactly it will be released in 2017. Just recently, original cast member Taryn Manning, who plays Tiffany Doggett, debunked rumors that she would not be coming back in the upcoming season.

Last week, a tabloid reported that Manning will not be appearing in "Orange is the New Black" Season 5. The report, which has been deleted, claimed that the actress wants to depart from her character, and she will be moving from New York to Los Angeles.

On her Instagram, Manning immediately dismissed the rumors. Netflix had even come to her defense and told Entertainment Weekly that she is still part of the TV series.

A handful of cast members will  be returning for "Orange is the New Black" Season 5, including Danielle Brooks, Laura Gómez, Adrienne C. Moore, Jackie Cruz, Vicky Jeudy, Laverne Cox, Yael Stone, Abigail Savage, Jessica Pimentel, Kimiko Glenn, Selenis Leyva, Nick Sandow, Natasha Lyonne, Emma Myles, Julie Lake and Lea DeLaria. Lori Petty clarified that she would still be appearing next season although Lolly Whitehill was taken into the psych ward.

When it comes to Season 5 release date, there are speculations that it would be released in the summer, preferably June. Season 2, 3 and 4 all debuted in June during the previous years and always land on a Friday. If this trend does not change, the show may get a June 9, 16 or 23 release date, according to Pop Sugar.

When "Orange is the New Black" Season 5 returns, it is expected that the show will address all the cliffhangers in the Season 4 finale. The initial episode of the new season would pick up on a new period at Litchfield penitentiary.

"Orange is the New Black" Season 5 has reportedly started its production in July 2016. Creator Jenji Kohan would still on board for Season 5, 6 and 7. Watch the video below of Season 4 finale review:
