Nina Dobrev is returning to "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8, and majority of her co-stars are happy. But there are rumors that Ian Somerhalder is not comfortable with her return.
On her first day back on set, Dobrev was photographed with her co-star, Paul Wesley. Typically, Dobrev, Wesley and Somerhalder are always spending time on set when the former and the latter were still in a relationship.
Executive producer Kevin Williamson was the one who posted the photo, but even the other snaps that were taken on the set of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 did not feature Dobrev and Somerhalder together.
According to multiple resources this could be because Somerhalder's wife, Nikki Reed, is not friends with Dobrev. Since the latter's split from Somerhalder, the actor immediately jumped into a relationship with the "Twilight" star.
A few months later, they decided to tie the knot. Dobrev opened up about Somerhalder and Reed's wedding and said that she is happy for her ex. In an interview with E! News, Dobrev said, "I have said this before. We did not break up because something bad happened or because there was not love or friendship. I love him and the friendship is still strong and I think he is great and I care about him. And that did not change. Yes, we are professional and that is fine. We were friends long before we dated and we still are now," she said.
Talking about Somerhalder and Reed's wedding, Dobrev admitted that she heard about their union through some of their common friends. "When I heard about the wedding, I thought it was beautiful. They look happy and I am happy and so I do not see why there should be a problem with that," she said.
"The drama is in the media, it is not with us. But of course, we are on a teen drama show, everyone is going to look for drama. If there is no drama, there is nothing to write about. I just ignore it," she said.
"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 finale will air on The CW sometime in March.
