Xiaomi is speculated to be working on a successor model for Redmi Pro that came with dual camera on its rear. Speculations suggest that the alleged Redmi Pro 2 will be arriving with a single camera equipped with Dual Pixel AF.
The USP of the original Redmi Pro is its dual camera that includes 13-megapixel primary camera and a 5-megapixel depth camera. The inclusion of dual camera make it possible for the smartphone to snap DSLR quality images with bokeh effect. According to Indian Gizmo, that cites information revealed by a Chinese leakster @KJuma on Weibo, the rumored Redmi Pro 2 will not be coming with a rear-facing dual camera.
Instead, it would be equipped with a better 12-megapixel camera equipped with Sony IMX 362 sensor. It is a 1/2.55" sensor that include large pixels of 1.4µm along with Dual Pixel autofocus. The camera of the Redmi Pro 2 seems to be better than the 16-megapixel rear snapper of Mi Mix that features pixels of 1µm, GSM Arena reported.
The leakster has not revealed the information on the processor that will be powering the Redmi Pro 2. However, it would be equipped be arriving in a 64 GB model with 4 GB of RAM and the other model would be coming with 128 GB of storage along with 6 GB of RAM. The Redmi Pro is packed with a 4,050 mAh battery. However, it successor is expected to feature a larger battery of 4,500 mAh capacity.
Like the original model, its successor is expected to include a 5.5-inch display that would carry support for full HD resolution. However, it is expected to be equipped with super-slim bezels. Its fingerprint reader seems to be placed on the rear panel. However, it does not appear to be round like usual fingerprint sensors.
As far as the pricing of the device is concerned, the 4 GB / 64 GB Redmi Pro 2 is expected to cost 1,599 Yuan ($232) and the other 6 GB / 128 GB variant is rumored to be priced at 1,799 Yuan ($261). As of this writing, there is no available on the release date of Redmi Pro 2. Since a lot of details of the smartphone have surfaced, it is likely to get announced soon.
